SCOTTON CRICKET CLUB

Scotton Cricket Club is located just outside the attractive village of Scotton, some 3 miles from Knaresborough. Established 150 years ago, the club moved to its present setting in 1996 and has continuously invested in the ground, equipment and clubhouse facilities with most recently a new kitchen and bar being added in 2011. 

We have 2 senior teams in the Saturday Nidderdale League, which has some of the most beautiful locations for playing cricket in Yorkshire.  Both teams provide a competitive standard of cricket suitable for all ages and abilities.  There is also a Wednesday team in the Harrogate Evening League. 

We are now making preparations for our 2012 season and wish to attract new players to this friendly and progressive club. We would like to hear from cricketers and sportsmen who may be with existing clubs, playing junior cricket at school, looking to join a club for the first time, or are thinking of taking up cricket - perhaps after some years out of the sport. 

We have excellent playing & coaching facilities and there are opportunities for cricketers of  all ability to participate and improve their game. The club is well run with both a CRB checked child welfare officer and ECB qualified cricket coaches.  Above all, we provide a friendly environment to enjoy playing and socialising with cricket enthusiasts where winning isn’t everything but trying your best is.

The club will start indoor netting & coaching from February to Easter 2012 on Sundays to be ready for the new season. This is the perfect opportunity not only to practice but also to meet other players and officials in the club. We would also like to encourage social membership and in addition to having a licensed bar we plan to hold a number of friendly matches and a summer ball this season to celebrate our 150th anniversary.

Our club initiative now is to bolster the playing strength for next season. New players will get a warm welcome from a friendly and enthusiastic club. We offer cricketers from junior’s aged 13+ through to senior level playing opportunities at one of the best cricket clubs in the area.
